With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry — including roles at Merrill Lynch and as a senior portfolio analyst — Dean builds risk-adjusted ETF portfolios informed by macroeconomic research and disciplined asset allocation.
Dean holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UC Irvine, and a Master of Business Administration in Financial Analysis and Investment Management from the USC Marshall School of Business. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
Before entering financial services, Dean's engineering background instilled an analytical, process-driven approach to portfolio construction — one that clients consistently tell him sets Hillcrest apart. He believes that clear communication during volatile markets is just as important as the investment strategy itself.
Dean lives in the Conejo Valley with his wife and two children. Outside the office, he's a car enthusiast and former docent at the Petersen Automotive Museum, and can occasionally be found cheering on the Trojans. ✌️
